Kindergarten for children who are five years old before September 1, 2012
see below
The Kindergarten Program is designed to encourage a balance of child initiated learning and teacher directed opportunities. The learning outcomes for the Kindergarten Program are based on benchmarks for learning standards found in North American Kindergartens.
Children in the Kindergarten class will be introduced to a variety of themes or interest units; each unit will encourage growth and development in each of their learning domains. This program offers a carefully prepared indoor and outdoor environment. There will be a variety of choices provided within the curriculum for art, dramatic play, blocks, manipulatives, language arts, books, music, and computers. Our goals include the encouragement of each child's natural curiosity and interest in learning.
Parent–teacher Orientation for the Kindergarten Program will take place the week of August 20. Children will participate with their teachers in a class visitation later that week while parents attend a beginning of the year workshop with the school director.
