Music at TYPA is for all ages. We offer 30, 45, or 60 minutes of private music instruction in Cello, Flute, Guitar, Piano, Violin, and Voice. We also offer group lessons for flute, guitar, and the “Chanterelles” children’s choir.
Our music instructors are exceptionally talented with a wealth of experience, and most possess Master of Music degrees specializing in music performance. Many continue to perform in recitals and concerts throughout the year.
Students should either own or rent their own instrument for weekly practice. While TYPA doesn’t sell or rent instruments, we can assist you in finding where you can either buy or rent one.
Each private lesson student has the option to perform in a music recital at the end of the school year.
Music lessons can begin at any time during the semester depending on availability and lessons will be prorated from the actual starting date.
Every parent or adult student is required to read and understand the TYPA Music Agreement. The Music Agreement is available at the TYPA office, on our website, or in the TYPA Music Notebook.
Please do not enroll in the TYPA music program unless you are able to make a weekly commitment to your music lessons. In the event you are not able to make a class, a friend or family member is not allowed to take that class for you unless they are already a student of the same TYPA music teacher.
Please note that there may be additional costs for music books.
After the second class of the semester, no credits or refunds will be given due to withdrawals. There will be no credit or makeup for missed group and semi-private lessons. Private lessons are allowed one cancellation per semester, but the cancellation must be done at least 24 hours prior to your lesson time.
